Installing the Browser Extension
The Mavely Browser Extension makes creating affiliate links effortless. Install it once, and you’ll be able to generate commissionable links directly from your favorite online stores.
How to install
- Choose your browser:
- Select “Add to [Browser]” (or “Get” on Safari).
- Once added, you’ll see the Mavely icon appear in your browser toolbar.
- Log in to your Mavely account if prompted — then you’re ready to start creating links!
Tip: If you don’t see the Mavely icon after installing:
- Chrome/Firefox: Click the puzzle-piece icon in your toolbar, then pin Mavely so it’s always visible.
- Safari: Open Preferences → Extensions and make sure Mavely is checked.
Using the Mavely Mobile App
If you haven't already done so, you can download Mavely app for Android or iOS:
Within the app, creators have two ways to create a Mavely link:
- Quick share button
- Create a Link button
Both of these buttons can be found in a brand’s “Brand Card”.

Desktop Browser
The desktop browser link creator tool can be found on the navigation bar.
To create a link, paste a URL from a brand's site into the bar and click the link button.
Once a link is generated, click “Copy Link” and then share it to your social platform.
Mobile Share Extension
You can create a link via a brand's site on your mobile browser. Navigate to the brand's site, find the product you’d like to share, and click the share button:
- Chrome: Top right-hand corner
- Safari: Center of the navigation bar
After clicking the share button, your sharing options will slide up. Select the Mavely app.
A Mavely link will generate, and you can copy and share it to your social platform.
Link Troubleshooting & FAQs
Why does my link show the brand's logo instead of the product image? Can I customize the image associated with my link?
The image you’re seeing is called a meta-tag: A snippet of code that provides information about a link (like its title, image, or description).
When you share a Mavely link, the image preview is generated from the brand’s metadata, which varies by platform. If a brand hasn’t provided metadata for a product, the image will default to their logo. Meta tags can’t be edited.
How can I tell if my link is working correctly?
If clicks are tracking in your Analytics, this usually means that your links are working as expected. Many clicks on your links do not always result in a sale. You may notice a lower conversion ratio if:
- You don’t frequently promote a specific brand
- You are promoting a brand for the first time
- You are promoting a brand to an audience that may not be interested in that product
Check if the low conversions are happening with one brand or with all of your links. This can help you decide whether the issue is related to tracking or if you might need to consider a different approach.
Why is my link redirecting to the Mavely homepage?
If you created a link for a product in the past but haven’t used it for several months, the older link may have expired and will redirect to the Mavely homepage.
To create a link that opens correctly:
- Generate a new Mavely link for the product
- Add ?1 to the end of the product URL (or &1 if the URL already has a ?)
This will create a fresh link that opens the product page on the brand's website as expected.
Can I shop my own links?
Most brands prohibit purchasing through your own affiliate links. Transactions detected as self-purchases may be reviewed and could result in reversed commissions.
Mavely is structured to track earnings from recommendations to others, not personal purchases. To ensure compliance with brand guidelines and secure commission payments, avoid using your own links for purchases.
