If a transaction isn’t showing up in your analytics—or if it appears but shows no commission—it may be due to a delay or a tracking-related issue.
Before submitting an Order Inquiry, review the points below to help diagnose the situation.
First Step: Check Your Transaction Details
Head to Analytics → Transactions tab to view all tracked orders and use your conversion ratio to evaluate how many clicks turned into transactions.
A low CR may mean your post didn’t result in purchases.
Why Orders May Not Track
Several common factors can prevent a transaction from being tracked:
Attribution Loss
Mavely uses a last-click attribution model—meaning the last affiliate link clicked before the purchase gets the credit. If a follower visits a coupon site or uses a browser extension after clicking your link, the credit may go to that final source.
Ad Blockers
If a follower has an ad blocker enabled, it may prevent cookie tracking, which most brands rely on. Without a cookie, the transaction won’t be attributed.
Cookie Expiration
Each brand sets a cookie window (e.g., 7 days). If a follower clicks your link but purchases after the cookie expires, the sale won’t track.
Coupon Code Interference
Using coupon codes tied to other websites or affiliates can override your link and prevent commission from tracking.
User Didn’t Use the Link
Many creators report that followers say they used the link—but tracking shows otherwise. A user might click your link but complete the purchase elsewhere, causing the attribution to go to another source.
Delayed Data Batching
While most brands track in real-time, some don’t report transactions until after product delivery. This is called delayed batching and is common with brands like:
- Walmart
- Chewy
These brands may report 5–7 business days after the purchase date.
Transaction Tracked, but Incorrect or Low Commission
Even if a transaction shows in your dashboard, it might come with no commission or a lower-than-expected payout. Here’s why:
Non-Commissionable Items
If a user purchases items that aren’t eligible for commission (like groceries, gift cards, etc), those items won’t generate commission, even if the link was valid.
Commission Breakdown Example
- Let’s say your follower places a $50 order, but only buys one $3 item that qualifies for 7% commission.
- You’ll earn $0.21, which is only 0.42% of the total order value.
This is common when an order mixes commissionable and non-commissionable products.
Transaction Shows $0 Commission
There are a few reasons a tracked order may show $0 commission:
- The user purchased only non-commissionable items
- The brand reversed the transaction (e.g., canceled order, return, invalid activity
- The action was non-monetary (e.g., free trial sign-up, email registration)
